The Chairman of ALSAI, Mr Arben Shehu and the General Prosecutor, Mr. Olsian today at September 24, 2020, signed an cooperation institutional agreement, through which they commit to intesigy and fight against criminal offenses committed by administration public employees in Albania. ALSAI and the General Prosecutor's Office are committed to increase cooperation for the exchange of information in order to accurately identify violations, which constitute a criminal offense in the field of administration of public funds, administration of public property and its privatization.
The Chairman of ALSAI Mr. Arben Shehu and the General Prosecutor Mr. Olsian Çela assessed during the joint meeting that the high level of misuse of public funds has become a serious concern for the country and the Albanian public opinion, committing to an immediate reaction on the part of the two institutions.
The two leaders expressed the will for better cooperation and coordination between the two institutions, starting from the General Prosecutor's Office with the preparation of a special methodology related to the investigation of criminal offenses committed by public administration employees.
For its side, ALSAI is committed to conduct an in-depth audit process and referral of criminal offenses to the prosecution.
In the following, periodic joint meetings will be organized between ALSAI employees, prosecutors and judicial police officers specialized in the investigation of criminal offenses in the field of economic crime. This process aims to perform with maximum responsibility the functional tasks.
